Insurance & Payments

 Payment Policy

  • Credit card needed on file to book any appointment.
  • No fee for appointments cancelled more than 24 hours from the consult time.
  • CANCELLATION FEE: Credit card may be charged a $75 cancellation fee for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before consult time.
  • NO-SHOW FEE: Credit card may be charged the full self-pay consult fee for “no show” clients who have not cancelled their appointment and are not present for the consult.

    Mom & Baby Both Have Aetna

    • We are in-network with aetna.
    • We bill aetna for both mom and baby if the consult involves both of you.
    • Most postpartum consults involve care for both mom and baby, with the exception being prenatal, exclusive pumping, or weaning consults
    • Aetna often covers 3-6 consults with no cost sharing.
    • Check your benefits before booking a consult.

    Either Mom or Baby Have Aetna, But Not Both

    • We are in-network with aetna.
    • We bill aetna for whoever is in-network (mom or baby).
    • You are responsible for the difference between Aetna’s coverage and the self-pay consult rate (the balance).
    • For example, if the self-pay consult fee is $250 and Aetna covers $75, you pay Flow Lactation the remaining $175.
    • We accept credit cards, cash, or checks.
    • You will have 7 days to pay the balance once an EOB is received from aetna.
    • If no payment is received in 7 days, the credit card on file will be charged the balance.
    • You will get a Superbill for proof of your payment to Flow Lactation (i.e. the $175). You can submit this Superbill to your insurance network for possible reimbursement.
    • We can’t guarantee full or partial reimbursement, but the Affordable Care Act mandates coverage of lactation services without cost sharing for most plans.

    Neither Mom Nor Baby Have Aetna (Both Have a Different Insurance)

    • You are responsible for the consult fee, paid at the time of service.
    • We accept credit cards, cash, or checks.
    • You will get a Superbill for proof of your payment to Flow Lactation. You can submit this Superbill to your insurance network for possible reimbursement.
    • We can’t guarantee full or partial reimbursement, but the Affordable Care Act mandates coverage of lactation services without cost sharing for most plans.
